Born Again

You must be born again but what does that mean?

If there is absolute truth, wouldn’t it be the same for everyone?  If it’s the same truth for everyone, why is it so hard for so many people to see?  Could you be blind?  Look at what the Bible has to say about it.

“But even if our Gospel also be hidden, it is hidden to those who are perishing and obscured only to those who are spiritually dying and veiled to those who are lost.  For the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the unbelievers’ minds, preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image and Likeness of God.” II Corinthians 4: 3-4
Is this possible?  Pure evil blinding you from the truth?  Think about it.  The truth is right in front of you and you may not be able to see it.

Jesus once told Nicodemus that he must be “born again”.  Nicodemus reacted as many do.  He said, “How can a grown man ever be born a second time?”  Nicodemus may have told Jesus he was crazy or made fun of him.  He may have wanted to walk away but that day Nicodemus didn’t walk away.  Something was different about Jesus.

Jesus said, “I tell you for certain that before you can get into God’s kingdom, you must be born not only by water, but by the Spirit.”*   We are born from our mothers womb surrounded by water.  This is our natural birth.  This is the door into the human race.

Most people believe they have a spirit but don’t understand what it means to be “born again.”  Let’s look at the beginning.  When God created Adam and Eve they enjoyed perfect  fellowship with Him until they disobeyed His command to not eat of one of the trees in the garden.

The forbidden fruit.

I’m not sure if it was the fruit they desired or the wisdom they were told it would give them OR if it was just because they were told they couldn’t have it.  Whatever the reason, they ate the fruit and they died.  Right?  You may say, “No, they were still alive, God just made themleave the Garden of Eden.”  Yes and no.  They were physically alive but their spirits were now dead.  God made them leave the Garden of Eden before they could eat of a different tree.  The tree that would make them live forever.  They would live forever with eternal dead spirits.  Being  separated eternally from their Creator and all His attributes…love, joy and peace.   Their sin brought a curse on the human race.  Death now ruled.  God’s spirit that was once alive in them was now gone.  It seemed all hopeless.  Except…   God knew this would happen.  God hadn’t “messed up”.  He knew.  An eternal “Oops” was not heard echoing throughout the heavens.  It wasn’t an oversight, a glitch in the system, a “bug” or a “virus”.   Then why did God let this happen?  Because man was given one of the most valuable gifts from God.

The gift of free will.

God created Adam and Eve with a free will to make their own choices.  He created us with the same gift.  He could open up the heavens right now and show us His power.  We would surrender out of fear not desire.  Instead, he calls to our hearts.  Gently.  He has always had his eye on you.  From time to time He calls out to you.  Like now. A plan was devised before the foundation of the world to bring man back into fellowship with his Creator.  First, man had to be shown how he cannot be “good enough” to fellowship with a holy God.  He can’t earn his own way to eternal LIFE by being “good” and following all the rules.
The ten commandments.  No matter how hard you try, you cannot keep them.  One day we will all stand before a holy God.  What do you deserve? Have you ever told a lie?  Even a little white lie?  What does that make you?  A liar?  Have you ever stolen anything?  A stick of gum?  What does that make you?  A thief?  Have you ever looked at another man/woman with lust in your heart?  What does that make you?  Jesus said if you even look at a woman with lust in your heart, it is just the same as actually committing adultery.  This is just three of the ten commandments. It is just not possible for us to live on this earth and not sin.  SIN has separated us from our Creator.  Sin will send us to a place that was created for the devil and his angels.  Dead spirits who will live forever.  This is not a contradiction of terms.  An eternal state of being totally aware of being dead and separated from life.  If only this was the worse part.
God’s plan continued.  There was only one way.  His only begotten Son.  Jesus was sent to the earth.  He had to enter this earth just like us, through the door to the human race.  The womb of a woman.
He had to grow into a man but not like us.  Jesus was the only one who lived a perfect life.  He came for one purpose, to defeat the works of the devil.  One of which made the human race fall and deserve to be sent to Hell that was made for the devil and his angels – not for his children.
But Jesus took all the penalties for our sins.  He is called the perfect lamb who was slain.  He even went to Hell and took back the keys to death and the grave.  He has paid a price we could never pay.

The price of a human soul required the death of a perfect Savior.

Amazing.  God’s Son died for us.  A King died in our place.  A Savior took what we deserve.     He wants to be your Savior.  He already paid the price for your sins.  He gave his life.  Believe in Jesus.  Believe that God sent His Son to die in your place.  Repent of your sins and your debt will be stamped “PAID IN FULL” with the blood of the perfect Lamb.  He’s waiting to hear from you.  Talk to Him.  He loves you.  He died for you.   Humble yourself before God.  Don’t try to understand the Gospel before you accept Jesus as your Savior.  It won’t happen.  Do you have a Bible?  If so, read this for yourself:

II Corinthians 4: 3-4

This is what it says, “But even if our Gospel also be hidden, it is hidden to those who are perishing and obscured only to those who are spiritually dying and veiled to those who are lost.  For the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the unbelievers’ minds, preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image and Likeness of God.”

A tempter is in all our gardens.

If I found out someone was blinding me from seeing the truth, I would be angry.  I think you should be angry enough to want to see the truth.  Angry enough to humble yourself and accept Jesus as your Personal Savior so you can see.  At least be angry enough to tell God that “if” He is real to prove Himself to you.  If you are sincere and take the first step, He will.  Ask. Jesus told Nicodemus, “…everyone who has faith in the Son of Man [Jesus} will have eternal life.  God loved the people of this world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never really die.  God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the people.  He sent Him to save them!  No one who has faith in God’s Son will be condemned.  But everyone who doesn’t have faith in Him has already been condemned for not having faith in God’s only Son.” **  It is simple.  You don’t have to say this prayer but pray a prayer something like this: “Dear God.  I accept Jesus as my Personal Savior.  Forgive me of my sins.  Take the blinders off my mind, so I can see the Truth.  I believe Jesus is the Son of God and I ask you to show me You are real.  I give my life to You.  In Jesus Name.  Amen” By the way…one day, for those of us who are born again, we will have the right to eat from the tree of life and LIVE forever in peace, joy and perfect love.  (Revelations 22:14) If you want more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.   We love you. Other scriptures quoted are from  *John 3:3-5 and  **John 3:15-18 (CEV)

For me being born again was the most awesome thing that has ever happened in my life, and I’ve had a pretty awesome life already.” Stephen Baldwin
